Nourish

Nourish is an innovative service design project addressing the critical issue of hunger and malnutrition among the elderly. Developed in collaboration with Big Motive in Belfast, Northern Ireland, this real-life project leverages design thinking to create a meaningful and impactful solution.

The project focuses on a two-fold system:

  1. Smart TV App for Elderly Users: A user-friendly platform that provides AI-powered meal reminders and analyzes daily eating habits, empowering elderly individuals to maintain a healthy diet.
  2. Tablet App for Carers: A dedicated app for caregivers and healthcare providers to monitor users' dietary habits, receive insights, and intervene when necessary.

Key Features and Achievements:

  • AI-Powered Nutritional Analysis: Tracks and analyzes eating habits to send personalized reminders and suggestions.
  • Collaborative Care Network: Connects elderly users, caregivers, and healthcare providers to ensure consistent monitoring and support.
  • Human-Centered Research & Co-Creation: Through workshops and stakeholder collaboration, the project uncovered key barriers such as difficulty remembering meal times and limited digital literacy among elderly users. These insights directly shaped the design, ensuring accessibility and ease of use.

Nourish exemplifies the power of service design in creating sustainable solutions that address complex societal challenges, particularly in the healthcare sector.

EasyNav

EasyNav is an accessibility solution designed to empower elderly individuals (55-70) to navigate mobile devices with confidence. This project bridges the digital divide by addressing challenges like limited digital literacy and unfamiliarity with app interfaces, fostering independence in an increasingly digital world.
